The SPCGB is the FIRST U.K. Kennel Club Recognised Shar-Pei breed Club. The Club was founded in 1983 by a group of devoted Shar-Pei fanciers with the intent of promoting and protecting the interests of the breed. Our aims remain the same to this day and both the breed and the SPCGB have gone from strength to strength.

The Shar-Pei club of Great Britain is shocked and appalled by this latest announcement by the Kennel Club. At this moment in time we are waiting for clarification to what the Kennel Club class as "skin tacking."
The Kennel club is there to maintain the welfare of dogs, and as all Shar-Pei owners know, this latest ruling will in fact put some Shar-Pei through unnecessary suffering.
We will be working closely with the Midland Shar-Pei club to join forces and save our beloved breed. A meeting will be called in due course, notification of which will be posted on here.
